Join the Institute for Transportation Decarbonization for a breakfast forum on the latest advancements in transportation decarbonization research, policy, and progress, followed by an open question & answer session.

Transportation emissions from cars, trucks, ships, airplanes, and trains are a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. This breakfast forum — hosted by the Institute for Transportation Decarbonization — brings together transportation academics and government transportation leaders during the 2024 National Academies of Sciences’ Annual Transportation Review Board (TRB) Meeting to understand how new advances in research and policymaking in specific realms of the transportation industry can transform the sector.

One year following its inception, the Institute is actively contributing to the analysis of technologies and policies aimed at transitioning the United States to a carbon-neutral transportation sector by 2050, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate warming. The convening explores advances in transportation technologies combined with policies dedicated to the adoption of cleaner solutions, which are key to enabling the transportation sector to stem the tide of rising emissions and develop more effective, accessible, and implementable clean transportation solutions.
